Secrets of a Traveler

Zip-line in Ecuador

Hi!  My name is Jamie and I guess you could say that I am very passionate about traveling.  Growing up my family spent many days exploring together.  My greatest childhood memories are the times we were exploring this beautiful world.  My parents, siblings and myself decided that it would be wonderful if we could continue traveling and do this for a living.  In the year 2000 we began our travel company called Fun For Less Tours.  It has been an incredible experience to continue touring and having the opportunity to meet so many beautiful people.  As of now I have already traveled to over 100 countries.  I have been lucky because my husband Josh decided to work with our travel company which allows us to travel together.  He is actually the awesome man who is behind our web design of our travel company (including this blog!) and is also our designated sherpa for our family.  We have four little ones who keep us on our toes at all times. My oldest who is 12 has already been to over 50 countries.  My other children are 9, 7 and 2.  As soon as they came into our family we introduced them to planes, trains and automobiles.  My greatest joy is watching them experience something for the first time in a new land.  I am hoping that these will be the memories that they will always hold on to.  I am not a professional photography or writer.  So know that there will be mistakes.  But I have a passion for traveling and would love to share my experiences with you.

      Jamie,
I absolutely love traveling with your company! Never in my life have I seen everything that I wanted to see while traveling than with your company besides the education that went with everything we did see! I loved traveling with your sweet Family on the Black Sea cruise. You are an awesome Mother and your children so precious and well behaved. I loved watching them exploring and on the ship at the formal dinner time they looked so beautiful, like out of a magazine! I loved your Family’s sense of Humor, your Dad is a blast!

Dear Jamie, Our vacations have always been to a rented beach house about 25 miles from our farm. My dad was self employed and my husband has never been able to get away from his work. We’ve never really thought about seeing the sights. I feel I live through our families adventures and only dream. Thank you for your encouragement to travel. I’ve never thought of “gift of memories.” Thank you for the link through Rhonna’s IG account.❤️✈️❤️

Thank you so much. How wonderful that growing up you were able to do some fun vacations with your family. It can be really difficult for many people to take work off. I’m sorry your husband is unable to. Maybe just a weekend away could be something that you could try. It doesn’t have to be a long adventure but sometimes a night away exploring a new city or doing something new can be very fun and bonding. Keep those memories of your childhood! I know I love my childhood travel memories!

Any suggestions on planning travel with school age kids so that they don’t miss a lot of school- or do you recommend only summer family trips? Looking for ideas.

Thank you for the question. I actually do take my kids traveling during the school year. There are a few different things that I do for them to not be penalized. I will make a post this week with all the information! Thank you!
